GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The General Assembly’s first session took place on 10 January 1946 in the Methodist Central Hall in London and hosted representatives of 51 nations. Today, The General Assembly is one of the largest committees with all 193 member states of the UN. It is the main policymaking and representative organ of the United Nations and provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of international issues including peace and security. In this conference, delegates in the General Assembly will be discussing the recent crisis in Ukraine and how to ensure stability in Afghanistan. Delegates will be expected to effectively and efficiently solve issues through healthy debate, and collaborate with their fellow delegates to come up with intelligent resolutions during the conference. Delegates should be familiar with both topics, and their current status, as well as their countries’ policies before the conference.
